Rway – Rent a vehicle (motorhome)
With regard to matters not governed by the rental contract or the terms and conditions that are to be regulated in general, the parties shall determine their content to be in accordance with these GTC, which shall be considered a joint and several annex to their contract.
DEFINITIONS
- Lessee – The legal or natural person contracted to use the motorhome on a temporary basis,
- Lessor – The owner of the motorhome,
- Rent – The fee for the temporary use of the motorhome,
- Parties – The lessee and lessor jointly,
- Rent period – The duration of the temporary use of the motorhome,
- Contract – The rental contract established by and between the parties.
Documents
When picking up the vehicle, it will be necessary to present the Lessee’s identity card, driver’s licence, address card and a fourth document (social security card, tax card, passport). If the vehicle is to be used not only by the Lessee but also by someone else, the other person must also present the above documents.
Rent and Security Deposit
The security deposit and the amount payable for rent must be available to pick up the motorhome, and must always be paid in advance. Deposit amount: HUF 500,000.
The full amount of the rent will be payable at least 14 days before the start of the rent period. The deposit corresponds to 50% of the rent amount, and will be payable at the time of booking.
In the event of cancellation, the deposit will be refunded under the following conditions:
- If cancellation occurs at least 30 days before the pick-up date, the full deposit will be refunded.
- If cancellation occurs 29 to 15 days before the pick-up date, 50% of the deposit will be refunded.
- In case cancellation occurs within 14 days before the pick-up date, the deposit or any rent already paid will not be refunded.
The security deposit is payable at the time the motorhome is picked up.
The establishing of this rental contract is subject to the condition that the Lessee or the person who intends to use the motorhome must be at least 25 years of age and has to hold a valid driver’s license that will have been issued at least three years prior.
Should the Lessee fail to meet these criteria and pays the deposit nonetheless, but does not provide for cancelling the rental as described above, the deposit or any rent already paid will not be refunded.
Vehicles can be picked up from our site at Gyáli út 50, Budapest 1097, between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM, subject to prior arrangement, and the pick-up process takes approximately 60 minutes.
The Lessee will be required to take this time into account before departure, as we will not be able to release the motorhome without providing the detailed briefing.
The car can be picked up from 8:00 AM on the first day of renting it, and dropped off unpacked until no later than 5:00 PM on the last day of renting it. When returning the vehicle, arriving late, i.e. after 5:00 PM, will incur a surcharge in an amount equal to a penalty corresponding to half a day’s rent for up to a 1 hour delay, and plus 1 full day’s rent in case the delay is more than 1 hour. The motorhome may only be dropped off at our site during business hours, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. When picking up and returning the vehicle, the Lessee will be required to notify the Lessor about any anticipated delay by telephone.
The Lessee will pick up the rental car in cleaned and washed state, and will be required to return it to the Lessor in discerning condition. The Lessor will charge an extra cleaning fee if any cleaning beyond normal is necessary, including, among others, the cleaning of upholstery and carpeting, the cleaning up sand or unusually large amounts of animal fur in the interior, and this will carry a fee of HUF 25,000.
Use/Rules
The vehicle may only be driven by the individual/individuals duly authorised in the rental contract. In the event of any breakdown, damage or deterioration of the vehicle during the rent period, the Lessee will be required to notify such to the Lessor immediately, and it will only be possible to reimburse repairs in this case.
The security deposit paid when the motorhome is renting is intended to cover any damage claim events that may occur during the rent period which do not reach the deductible part of the insurance, any damage not covered by the insurance carrier and any damage resulting from other than as-intended use.
Smoking in the motorhome is strictly prohibited and any breach of this rule will result in the forfeiture of the entire deposit.
The deductible part of the motor insurance (10%, min. HUF 315,000) is to be understood per claim.
The Lessee will remain materially liable for the difference in the mandatory third-party liability insurance premium, which will have been increased for any damage caused by the Lessee, even beyond the expiry of the rent period.
The Parties confirm that grounds for frustration not attributable to the Lessor, in whose context the legal consequences associated with deposit paid will not be applicable, shall include the following cases in particular, but without limitation:
- Technical breakdown and malfunction of the vehicle through no fault of the Lessor
- Damage to or the non-roadworthy state of the vehicle caused by a previous Lessee
- Malfunction, damage or non-roadworthy state of the vehicle resulting from an accident through no fault of the Lessor
The hired vehicle may only be refuelled with the prescribed fuel (diesel).
The Lessee will be required to reimburse the cost of all malfunctions resulting from improper refuelling.
Incorrect refuelling will result in the forfeiture of the entire security deposit.
Vehicle will be released with a full tank of fuel (AdBlue and DIESEL) in every case, and the Lessee shall likewise be required to return the rented vehicle with a full tank of fuel (AdBlue and DIESEL).
The Lessor shall not be liable for any consequences arising from any potential excess weight of the vehicle over its maximum permitted total weight.
The Lessee acknowledges that the Lessor will have the option of using the security deposit paid by the Lessee as reimbursement for damages arising from the late return of the rental car or failure to return the car.
The Lessor will not be obligated to refund any rent where the motorhome is returned within the rent period or before the expiry of the rent period.
The Lessee acknowledges that any and all insurance policies for the motor vehicle is limited solely to the territory of Europe.
The cost of any damage claim events, breakdowns or that of transportation resulting from the former in countries that lie outside Europe will be borne by the Lessee in full. Taking the vehicle to territories outside Europe will only be possible subject to the Lessor’s written consent.
The motorhome’s motor insurance does not cover any damage in the event of a break-in to the vehicle nor valuables left inside it. Damage caused by the vehicle being broken into shall be borne by the Lessee up to the amount of the security deposit.
The Lessee will be required to recompense any damage resulting from the other than as-intended use of the vehicle even in addition to the amount of the security deposit.
Where the Lessee is not a natural person, it may be only be represented by a duly authorised individual during the letting of the contract (subject to the presentation of a certificate of incorporation, a specimen of signature and power of attorney). If the individual acting during the letting of the rental contract is holds no authorisation from the company indicated as the Lessee, then obligations provided for in the contract shall be incumbent upon the natural persons acting during the letting of the contract. The natural person acting for and on behalf of the legal entity during the letting of the contract shall, by signing the contract, assume a cash guarantee with respect to the legal entity they represent discharging its obligations deriving from this contract, including, in particular, but without limitation, the payment of any amounts owed.
The Lessee acknowledges that the vehicle is fitted with a tracking device capable of identifying the route of the journey.
Motorway Use Rights
The Lessor informs the Lessee that the vehicle is comes completed with an e-vignette valid for the whole territory of Hungary. (The cost of which is included in the rent amount.)
Furthermore, the vehicle is eligible to use the existing fast lanes on toll motorways with tollbooths. (This is trough the provision of a modular device marketed by tollticket GmbH), which can be used
- In Spain (blue sign with white letter T),
- In France (orange T logo),
- In Italy (yellow signs with blue lettering “TELEPASS”) and
- In Portugal (with white V logo on a green square).
In the above countries, the motorway use toll is payable subject to the length of the trip completed, i.e. the extent of use. The Lessor shall invoice the Lessee for these charges in arrears upon receiving the invoice from the service provider, but no later than within 30 days after the end of the rent period.
Security Deposit
Use of the vehicle other than for its intended purpose is prohibited!
Until any damage to the vehicle incurred during the rent period will have been repaired or the insurance company will have settled the claim, the full amount of the security deposit will remain with the Lessor. Repairs to vehicles, with particular reference to motorhomes, may only be carried out using OEM spare parts and in accordance with the technology specified by the manufacturer. The use of adhesives is not an acceptable repair for plastic chassis elements, therefore the slightest damage to the body panel (roof, side) and the overcab will result in the total loss of the security deposit.
The Lessor will be required to settle accounts within 30 days after the end of the rent period at the earliest.
If, for any reason, the motorhome booked by the Lessee cannot be handed over, the Lessor reserves the right to replace it with a motorhome of the same or a higher category.
Rent period
The minimum rent period is 8 days in peak season and 4 days in pre and postseason.
Priority periods: June 01 to September 30, 2025. October 22 to November 03, 2026. 01-13 April
Duration of pre/postseason: 01 January to 31 May; 01 October to 31 December
The rent period of the motorhome is from the time of pick-up to the time of returning to the site, regardless of the actual use of the motorhome. Should the Lessee arrive using their own motor vehicle, they have the option to park their vehicle free of charge on the premises of the Lessor’s site for the duration of the rent period, using an outdoor car park. Where the Lessee leaves their motor vehicle or luggage at the Lessor’s site during the rent period, the Lessor shall not be liable for any damage that may occur. It is recommended that the Lessee hands over the ignition keys of a car left at the site to the Lessor so that it can be moved in case of danger.
Obligations of the Lessee:
The Lessee will be required to use the vehicle as intended, preserve its condition and to take care in keeping it locked.
The Lessee will be required to keep the vehicle’s keys and its registration certificate on themselves, and will be fully responsible for keeping those available. In the event of the potential disappearance of the vehicle, if the Lessee does not have the vehicle registration certificate and keys, they will be required to recompense the Lessor for any damage it may thus incur. In the event of damage to or the potential disappearance of the vehicle, they will be required to notify the Lessor forthwith and to take action with the authorities. In the event of the disappearance of the vehicle, the security deposit shall also go towards covering the insurance deductible.
For as long as the rental contract is in effect, the rent relationship and its object may not be transferred, assigned, sublet, alienated, encumbered or offered as collateral to any person other than the duly authorised individual(s).
The Lessee represents that they have familiarised themselves with the terms and conditions provided for in the contract, as well as the general terms of contract. The Lessee declares that the Lessor has specifically drawn their attention to the unusual terms and conditions, and that they will conclude the rental contract with express knowledge of such and accept these general terms and conditions.
The Lessee acknowledges that the Lessor may unilaterally amend the GTC at any time, provided that the Lessor is subject to the obligation to disclose any such amendment or new material to the Lessee. The Lessor will comply with the obligation to disclose amendments to the GTC by publishing such on the website. The Lessee will specifically accept this procedure.
